The year is 1985.A mesmerising "shuffle" rhythm emerges from radios, accompanied by synthesiser sounds that sweep millions of people across the globe. The band Tears for Fears releases what will become one of the most played songs in human history: "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."
On the surface, it is just another successful pop song. However, when peeling back the musical garments, one discovers an almost prophetic text.It draws a direct line between the most modern physics and the deepest mystical secrets of the universe. The songwriters served as an unconscious channel for a cosmic frequency, leaving us a roadmap to infinity.
The Silent Enslavement: How They "Turn Off" Our Consciousness
In quantum physics, there is an amazing phenomenon. As long as a particle is alone, it exists as a "wave"—an infinite space of possibilities and potential (superposition). But the moment it is measured or observed, a "collapse of the wave function" occurs. It then becomes solid, limited, and defined matter.
The song opens with a chilling warning:
"Welcome to your life, there's no turning back... even while we sleep, we will find you."
In the modern world, the managers of consciousness—academia, the media, and political systems—try to fix the "particles" (which are us, human beings) within limited matter. They feed us constant noise, false headlines, and competitiveness ("One headline why believe it?").They create an illusion where "everybody wants to rule the world."By doing so, they distract us from the single singular point—the Divine truth, the only power that runs reality.
A Room Without Light: The Secret of Tzimtzum (Contraction)
The song continues and tells us:
"There's a room where the light won't find you."
In mystical and Kabbalistic books, this is exactly the description of the "Secret of Tzimtzum."To create a material world, the Creator supposedly "contracted" His infinite light and created an empty space—a dark room.Within this space, reality conceals the King. Why? Because the King wants to be sought and discovered out of free choice.Inside this room, every human particle enters its own personal life loop, trying to find its way in the darkness.
When the Walls Crumble: Infinity Waits Behind You
Yet, this darkness is not eternal. In an amazing moment of awakening, solid material reality begins to dismantle:
"Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down... when they do, I'll be right behind you."
When the particles of humanity unite and hold hands, the Big Bang of consciousness occurs. The walls of matter, ego, and illusion collapse. This moment of discovery can feel like a frightening fall, because everything we knew disappears. But the song promises us: "I'll be right behind you."At the moment of collapse, infinity (the singular point holding the universe) reveals itself as the true support. It is what supports your fall and receives you with open arms.
A Line to the Center: Filling the Empty Space
Here lies the greatest quantum and mystical vision of the creation.
Imagine a large circle where we are all located on its circumference. If every human particle stops looking sideways in search of power and control, and starts drawing a straight line to the center of the circle—to that same infinite singular point—something cosmic will happen: the entire space will change. The empty and dark space inside the circle will be completely filled with a network of illuminating lines.
In this state, the singular point divests itself of its garments and masks.Divinity is no longer hidden under the guise of "nature" and rigid laws of physics.Light fills reality fully and overtly, and the entire world becomes a simple unity where it is clear to everyone who the true ruler is.
The Secret of the '80s and the Connection to Joseph the Righteous
Is it a coincidence that this song broke out into the world specifically in the 1980s?From a historical-spiritual perspective, the answer is no.
The Torah tells us about Joseph the Righteous, the mystical figure who knew better than anyone how to rule within the material world (Egypt - from the word Metzar, meaning restriction and limitation) without losing connection to infinity for a single moment.Joseph the Righteous was the viceroy and actual king in Egypt for exactly 80 years (from age 30 until his passing at 110).
The 1980s carried the special frequency of the 80 years of Joseph's kingship. The song born in this decade arrived to remind us of the "Secret of Joseph": the possibility to live within a material world, manage it, but understand that all power comes from the infinite singular center.
The songwriters drew a line to infinity and wanted to discover it.Their song continues to echo to this day, inviting each of us to stop trying to control the imaginary world outside, and to draw our personal line to the center—to the light waiting to be discovered.
